Golf
With 253 days of sunshine a year, Cancún is a golfer's paradise. The Mayan World on the Yucatan Peninsula boasts pristine beaches, dense jungles, abundant wildlife and birds; hundreds of Mayan ruins, and modern resort hotels. There is no reason not to take advantage of the beautiful and quite challenging courses in and around Cancún.
Moon Palace, 7,165-yard, par-72 Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, is a true championship course. Its dynamic layout requires golfers to navigate through native Mayan vegetation as well as numerous wetlands and strategically placed bunkers.
Museums
To the right side of the entrance to the Cancún Convention Center is the Museo Arqueologico de Cancún, a small but interesting museum with relics from archaeological sites around the state.
Bullfights
A sport introduced to México by the Spanish viceroys, bullfighting is now as much a part of Mexican culture as tequila. The bullfights usually include four bulls, and the spectacle begins with a folkloric dance exhibition, followed by a performance by the charros.
Shopping
Cancún is known throughout México for its diverse shops and festive malls catering to a large number of international tourists. Cancún's main venues are the malls. The Plaza Kukulcan offers a large selection -- more than 300 -- of shops, restaurants, and entertainment. The Maya Fair Plaza/Centro Commercial Maya Fair, frequently called "Mayfair", is the oldest mall in Cancún.
Nightlife
Clubbing in Cancún is a favorite part of the vacation experience and can go on each night until the sun rises over that incredibly beautiful blue sea. Several big hotels have nightclubs or schedule live music in their lobby bars. At the clubs, expect to pay a cover charge of $15 to $25 per person, and pay $5 to $8 for a drink. Some clubs (Dady O, Dady Rock, & La Boom) even offer the option for you to pay the cover charge one time, but allow your admittance into three or four different clubs under the same roof. Some of the higher-priced clubs include an open bar or live entertainment.
